Compare the Neopro Tidal and Lime waterproof leashes side by side. We break down durability, weather resistance, and safety features to help you choose.
Quick answer
Both are waterproof, but the Tidal offers a screw-lock hook for extra safety, while the Lime provides the same core protection at a lower price.
What makes them waterproof?
Both leashes share the same weatherproof foundation: a Neopro rubber overlay that protects the inner polyester. This means you can rinse off mud, sand, or saltwater after a beach walk without worrying about the core material degrading. The key difference lies in the hook hardware and price point.
Safety and security trade-off
The Tidal's screw-lock hook adds an extra layer of security for strong or unpredictable dogs. If your dog tends to lunge at squirrels or pulls hard on a harness, that locking mechanism prevents accidental unclipping. The Lime also has a screw lock, but only on its L and S sizes — check your leash size if you choose the Lime.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Weather protection: Both leashes use the same Neopro rubber overlay to shield the polyester core from rain, sand, and saltwater.
- Hook safety: Tidal includes a screw-lock hook on all sizes. Lime includes it only on sizes L and S — verify your size. If your dog is a strong puller, the Tidal's universal screw lock is the safer bet.
- Price: Tidal costs USD 17.68 (compare at USD 28.99). Lime costs USD 15.11 (compare at USD 20.99). You save roughly USD 2.50 with the Lime, but lose the screw-lock guarantee on all sizes.
